What has been your experience (those who rented a car) in France?

Has anyone tried Autoeurope.com?

Have rented a car several times in the South of France, but we normally stay with the bigger compagnies like Hertz and Avis. Never had any problem with them Wink

Autoeurope.com has a toll free number in the States and appears to be an American company here, but they have cars from Hertz, National and European companies as well.

My car for France is through Hertz but via autoeurope which is suppose to give a cheaper rate, and the one in England is National via autoeurope too.

I am hoping we'll know how to drive in England Confused

Generally tolls in France are more expensive than in US. You can use this tool to calculate tolls in France. Just enter departure and arrival cities & go through the itinerary. You can find the actual toll cost across your journey.
As regards to car rental, you can also refer to my website (see signature > car rental) for cheaper & trouble free car rentals.

What about full CDW?

Thanks for toll info.

I checked your site, but they're showing up to 5 people? I need something smaller for 4 people minus luggage.

If anyone visits Portugal on their travels, they also charge tolls for use of the motor ways. Seems a little cheeky as most of the money for their construction came from European grants Wink Anyway, I can recommend a car hire company in Faro airport, Algarve: I use Auto Prudente

So do I need anything else than a passport and a drivers license when renting a car in Paris?

I have always used Avis and they have been great for me- a good experience all round.

I've not had any experience with Autoeurope.com sorry.
