| Hello - I am new to forums....I am planning to go on a safari next summer in Kenya. The only travel company I have researched in Friendlyplanet.com - the Kenya wildlife safari trip they offer looks great and covers a lot - the Masai Mara, Narubu lake, the base of Kilamanjaro.. and more - starts in Nairobi. Has anyone heard of Friendlyplanet?Traveled with them? Suggestions? Looking forward to responses.. |

I have never heard about this operator, but there a numerous safari operators to choose from. Some operators run set routes and some will create a tailor made package for you and you can just about go anywhere and choose you style of accommodation all depending on your budget. _________________ http://www.lathita.co.za/

| thank you for your response - I spoke with someone last evening who went on the exact trip and she had amazing reviews of the trip and company which reassured me. Have you been to Kenya or on a safari? |

I have not been on Safari in Kenya, but my company use a ground handler to do all our stuff there. I am from South Africa and go on Safari a couple of times a year to Namibia, Botswana, Zambia or South Africa.
Feel free to contact me for any safari related information and I will assist you as much as possible. _________________ http://www.lathita.co.za/

I've been on 8 safaris and have planned a group safari to Kenya in September of 2008. Because of a recent posting in the Yahoo group, Wayfaring Women, I did an analysis of Friendly Planet's Kenya/Tanzania trip. It's probably too long to post here, but if you will send me a private message, I'll reply. I can also send you information about the safari I've put together for comparison. Traveling to Africa is a wonderful experience; it will change your life forever! Your first experience should be the best possible.

There are many Tour operators in Kenya, but the common denominator among
all of them is to ensure the travelers are satisfied with the safari. Choose wisely
and within your budget and you will enjoy Kenya. It is a wonderful country with so
much to offer. _________________ www.sweetsafaris.com |

Hello, I would always make sure you ask what is included and what isn't. Make sure whether you are being sold a private or shared trip. Ask what sort of vehicles they use and if the guides know their birds as well as animal behaviour. Whoever you go with enjoy! _________________ Roy J.Hinde M.Sc.
