Hmmm ... what really happened?
1. Dog ate reports collected by surveyors ...
2. Cow ate them ...
3. Criminals in Mumbai, that is, most people in Mumbai, bribed ...

New Delhi, Aug 6 (IANS) A unique Reader's Digest survey to find out how honest people are in the world's 32 most populous cities saw Mumbai finishing fifth along with Manila and New York.
In each city, reporters from Reader's Digest left 30 mid-priced mobile phones in public places and then watched how people reacted. In Mumbai, home to a very large number of poor, finders returned 24 of the 30 telephones.
Slovenia's capital Ljubljana topped the list of 30 cities, returning 29 of the 30 'lost' telephones. Toronto came at the second spot with 28 telephones, followed by Seoul (27) and Stockholm (26).
The telephone recovery in some of the wealthiest cities was poor.
Auckland saw only 23 phones returning to the Reader's Digest team, Paris and Berlin just 21 each, Zurich 20, Sydney and London 19 each, Madrid 18, Singapore just 16 and Amsterdam 14. Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur finished at the bottom with 13 telephones each.
Reader's Digest said that Mumbai may have come last in its politeness survey last year, but its citizens 'proved to be amazingly honest'.
The magazine said in its latest issue that all the seven women who found Reader's Digest phones returned them.
According to the magazine, after two 15-year-old schoolgirls, Vidhi Goradia and her friend, found a phone on the cemented seaside seating at Marine Drive, 'we watched as they got into a heated discussion before they returned the phone to us'.

Someone was supposed to come to my flat at 7:30 this morning, so I waited. Well, ... this guy came two hours late. What the ...
As I mentioned here quite a few times, 'punctuality' is not a part of vocabulary here ...
*** sigh *** Another dreadful day in India ...
FYI, if I became the Prime Minister of India, I would quickly shift to dictatorship. And then, I'll order officers to execute people who cannot be punctual. It is the only way to introduce punctuality in the land of the irresponsible 'India.' _________________ Online Education :: Career Development Forum

I guess you would solve the problem of over population that way.
At my Indian wedding i was supposed to be some where to get on my horse (to get to my bride) and when i got there i was the only one there (on time of course) the rest came like 1 1/2 hours later _________________ GHPtravel,

On your wedding day ...
That's horrible.
I might have said this already, but, in India, tomorrow means next week. Next week means next month at best. Next month means next year at best. If they say 'In a year ...', oh, boy, you're in trouble. Whatever they say will happen may or may not happen by the end of the century. _________________ Online Education :: Career Development Forum

It is bad but i guess people there are used to it.
I also hear stories of place like Spain where people are also always late (maybe not that late) _________________ GHPtravel,

I'd like to hear more about this, was the bride on horseback too, or did you just sweep her off her feet? Are gooms on horseback part of a traditional Indian wedding or were you just doing something different?
And finally, what did you and the horse talk about during that 1 1/2 hour, or were you just horsing around? _________________ A sense of humor is the pole that adds balance to your steps as you walk the tightrope of life--W.A. Ward |

OK DP let me tell you this.
First of all of course the horse was late to So there was only my friend from Holland and his wife to keep me company
And i think it is part of the tradition to use a horse or at least in the part of India where my wife's family is from. And No she didn't get a horse and of course i swept her of her feet long before that (we got our "real" wedding in Canada 6 months earlier). _________________ GHPtravel,

People get sick very often ...
Not being punctual is bad enough, but I find that people around here get sick ... very often. I'm guessing that it's because of the combination of poor hygiene, horrendous sanitation condition, diet and unclean water. For this reason, many meetings get canceled pretty often; this is not uncommon. In fact, there was a dinner arrangement today, but it was just canceled. _________________ Online Education :: Career Development Forum

Oh, please, someone just gets rid of this disgusting lawyer ...
I'm thinking that there are only scumbag lawyers. Prime example: my next door neighbor. This guy come home around ten in the evening, and after that, he keeps talking on his cell phone until he goes to bed. Why does he try so hard to create this noise pollution and bother neighbors? I don't know exactly why, but I guess it's in lawyers' blood. They apparently biologically inherently have desire to keep other people as unpleasant as they can. *** sigh ***
Please ..., someone just shoots this idiot in the head and get rid of him ... _________________ Online Education :: Career Development Forum
