In your case I wouldn`t worry about learning a new language but more about learning about geography. You`re not in San Diego as you pretend but in India .

I think you are right. My friend usually lost his patience teaching me how to pronounce your language. LOL

because compared to english we have way more gramatic rules and we have like three articles.

I'm a native speaker I don't mind at all but I know some people who had to learn it on their own and all of them said it's hard to learn.

Languages like French, Italian, English and Spainish are way more logicla for beginers (there was some study which proved that fact)

Seriously German is pretty close to English in the scheme of things. Whereas something like Mandarin has a totally different alphabet!

Well, i`m not a native but finished german school and according to the teacher and all the lessons i got through the 5 years education believe me the german language is built with lot of logic Smile. Also if you take it as a most difficult one you have to put the other languages you mentioned in the same category, because Italian and Spanish have nasty verb conjugation, french i do not know but found out that if you know at least 2 european languages you can pick up words from the rest.
About the English and its closeness to the the German is true as they are both coming from the west germanic language group.

I remember learning German in school and found it held a pretty strong resemblance to english so I guess I found it reasonably easy in that respect. During my travels however, the one language that I couldn't even attempt to begin to speak was Swedish...now that is a difficult language in my opinion!!!

surely languages like Chinese or Japanese must be more difficult. i know that German is probably the most difficult languages to translate simultaneously, as masculine and feminine can be designated at the end of a very long sentence, for example (confirmation anyone?). However, I know from friends that Russian has very few tenses, so it's difficult for languages with more (like English) to decide/comprehend.

And again, surely reading the letters/alphabet must have some part to play...at least German uses more or less the same figures?!
